Stafford Masie, a former Google executive, says cryptocurrency has gone mainstream and is here to stay.
“In 36 months, if you don’t own Bitcoin, you will have transacted across the network in some way or form. You will own crypto as an asset class, use it as a medium of exchange, or interface with it from a security perspective.”
“Crypto is messy, but it is innovation happening, and you should not underestimate it, ever,” Masie told Trevor Ncube from the In Conversation with Trevor Show, hosted recently at GIBS.
A board member of Discovery Bank and a mobile payments entrepreneur who has worked in the ICT industry for more than 25 years, Masie said it took him between two and three years to comprehend Bitcoin fully.
“It is the greatest technological gift in the history of humanity and the most incredible invention we’ve ever created: there is fire, the wheel and Bitcoin.”
